2. Data We Collect

• Account data: Name, email address, password (hashed)
• Essay content: Text submitted for feedback processing
• Payment data: Processed by Revolut — we do not store card details
• Usage data: Pages visited, submission timestamps
• Technical data: IP address, browser type (functional cookies only)

3. How We Use Your Data

• To generate your academic feedback report
• To send you your report via email
• To manage your account and passes
• To process payments via Revolut
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the service you requested.

4. Third Parties

We share data only with the following processors, all bound by data processing agreements:

• Groq AI: Essay text is sent to Groq's API for AI processing. Groq does not train on submitted data.
• Supabase: Database hosted in the EU region. All data remains within the EU.
• Revolut: Payment processing. We receive only payment confirmation, not card details.
• Hostinger: Website hosting. Email delivery via SMTP.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

5. Data Retention

• Essay files: Automatically deleted within 90 days of submission
• Account data: Retained while your account is active
• Payment records: Retained for 7 years (legal requirement)
• Deleted accounts: Anonymised within 90 days of deletion request

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

7. Cookie Policy

We use functional cookies only. These are essential for the service to operate (session management, authentication). We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.

You can decline non-essential cookies via the banner shown on your first visit. Declining cookies will not affect your ability to use the platform.

8. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Our Supabase database uses row-level security. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our service or legal requirements. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email.
